Practices

We work hard to raise the highest quality fruits and vegetables on our farm.  We believe in keeping our fields in the same or better condition than when we began, we do this by using as few chemicals as possible and only when necessary and mainly use mechanical and cultural practices to control weeds and pest.  We also utilize cover crops, and crop rotations to raise high quality produce.  To help insure that our produce is the freshest and of the highest quality, we hand pick all of our produce.

How We Got Started

Tucker's Berry Farm started out in 2000 with 100  strawberry plants and a few watermelon and cantaloupe.  We have expanded to over 15 acres of produce raising a wide range of produce.  The  enterprise started out as my Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project in the FFA during my years in high school.  I received many outstanding awards for my project. Some of these awards were Indiana FFA State Proficiency Winner and National Finalist in the Fruit Production area.
